10 Reasons Why I Love Will Herondale -Spoilers-

In order to recover from Clockwork Prince I feel like this post is necessary. Will Herondale is amazing and I want the world to know it. I love him more then any other character ever written. But simply stating that you love someone or something with out valid reason, I think is not true love. So here I have compiled a short list in no particular order of reasons why Will has captured my heart.

(This does contain some spoilers, they aren't marked so read at your own risk.)

1.) The Memory Rune. I think it was Jace (I could be wrong) who once mentioned that the closer a rune is to the heart the stronger the rune is. Will Herondale has a permanent Memory Rune right above his heart. That means that all the terrible memories he has lived thru are still bright and vivid in his mind. His memories are inescapable. Memories of his mother crying out his name, memories of his sister dying, memories of Tessa. I think it's time he had some good memories to dwell on.


2.) Will is beautiful. Yes Will's beauty is unreal in it's perfection, but what is outward beauty without inner beauty? Nothing. Fortunately for Will his soul is just as beautiful as are his eyes.


3.) Speaking of beautiful soul. I've never read of another character that was capable of so much love, compassion, selflessness, and sincerity. Yes I said sincerity. Will Herondale is actually quite sincere.

4.) Chivalry at it's finest. Does anyone remember a certain scene in Clockwork Angel where Will dashes off tearing thru the streets of London riding bareback on a stallion to save the woman he loves. 'Nough said right there. But not for Will, he again preforms a great act of chivalry for Tessa in Clockwork Prince, and I'm not talking about helping her step over a puddle.

5.) Will is noble. At the very end he makes a certain congratulatory toast. He did it so gracefully too. He is far more noble then meets the eye.

6.) Beauty is nice but Will has brains too. It seems to me that Will is always the one coming with the plans against Mortmain, and he knows how to get out of sticky situations.

7.) He is book nerd! Will's room is piled with books upon books. Once again 'nough said.

8.) He can make any name sound sexy. I'll be honest I never really much cared for the name Tessa; until Tessa described the way Will said her name. Swoon. I even liked the way he said Mildred.

9.) He is a true friend. He rather break his own heart and suffer in silence then to hurt his friends. And he he is so loyal, he would take down down anyone who dared mess with one of his friends.

10.) Will is simply charming. Even though he's tried so hard not to be loved, Will Herondale is still deeply adored. Could you imagine what he'll be like now that he wants to win us all over?

I can't wait to fall in love even more in Clockwork Princess.

Clockwork Prince by The Amazing Cassandra Clare Review

I've just finished Clockwork Prince by The Amazing Cassandra Clare, therefore I'm still reeling over the events of Chap. 20 so I'm pretty sure this review is going to mostly sound like confused rambling. Fair warning.

Where to begin? Let's start at 11:28 p.m. Dec. 5th 2011 (yes this date and time will forever be marked sacred in my mind); my will crumbled and I downloaded the e-book thus forfeiting any special content. From there I was promptly swept away to a world only Cassandra Clare can create, charmed by her dashing characters that I feel I have come to know. Silly isn't it, but that is what I have come to call the "Clare effect".
So much happens in this second installment of The Infernal Devices; some of the things I had guessed at and was pleased to learn were indeed correct, while others completely blind sided me.
And since I mentioned being blind sided I'll take this opportunity to discuss Jem, the handsome figure gracing the lovely cover. He has grown so much, stepped out of his quiet composure and done things that I would never had thought possible of him. I'll be honest though while he has certainly grown in this book he has not grown on me; I have been, still am, and will always remain a Will Herondale girl. But I do certainly see why many have called this "Jem's book". Jem fans will be fanning themselves in delight.
But Will, oh Will! Will goes thru so much in this book, from his lowest point by far to his brightest happiest moment. Will fans get to see his every faceted side and truly learn the great many depths of his soul. And I feel it is just as much his book as it is Jem's. (I will be filling my house with Pansies now as they have suddenly become my favorite flower.) Being the Will fan that I am I feel as if I've been drenched in ice water, savagely wrung out, and hung out to dry just as the light of dawn is breaking free. Yep I think that about sums up Will's journey thru Clockwork Prince.
Now on to Tessa. There were moments scattered all thru out this book that I boldly admired her, wanted to cradle her in my arms and tell her all will be right in this world, and other times when I hated her so badly that I had to stop reading for few moments. But in the end my admiration for her won out and she remains my favorite heroine of all time.
I have to say there was not a single character left unchanged in this story. Everyone revealed a deeper part of themselves, and the consequences varied thru out. For some it ended well, for others not so. The Bramwells made heart swell with fondness. I would say more but I don't want to spoil anything.
Sophie was incredible, and has always reminded me of Isabelle (TMI by Cassandra Clare), and their resemblance grows even more so in Clockwork Prince  (and this is where realization has just dawned. I'm awfully slow, hahah.)
 In Clockwork Angel Jessamine held a certain kind of interest for me, she was like a beautiful broken doll, and her role in Clockwork Prince played out exactly as I thought it would, up until the very end. She left me even more curious then before and I have this peculiar feeling that in the end she will somehow be very important, the only thing is I can't figure out how. Her outcome now is a mystery.
The Lightwood Boys... Well I actually rather enjoyed their presence and looked forward to their page time. I think they were brilliant, and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of either of them yet.
Magnus Bane was his usual charming self, coy and flirtatious. But much like Will, he has a deeper soul then the one he bears for the outside world. I've always thought of him of as all fun and sass, but Magnus unveils a side of himself that breaks my heart almost as much as Will does.
While so many secrets have been revealed one might think that there isn't much left to deal with, but no. A slew of new questions have been raised. A slew of new characters to perk our interest have been introduced, some that I instantly adored, (I'm looking at you Scott) and some that make me wary. And while the ending is bittersweet Clare closed this installment on a strange note of hope for the residents of the London Institute.
I could go on and on (seriously) gushing about every sentence in this book, but I have to restrain myself lest I spoil something in my rush of excitement. So I'll leave you simply with this:
